Itinerary for Char Dham Yatra Bike Trip

  • Day 1- Start your journey and arrive at Rishikesh. Make sure your bike is in a good condition and carry all the important documents with you.
  • Day 2- On the second-day ride for around seven hours and reach Janki Chatti. Take a good rest and stay overnight at a hotel. 
  • Day 3- Trek for around 6km from Janki Chatti to reach Yamunotri Ji Temple. Trek down and after some time start your ride to Harsil.
  • Day 4- Start your early morning ride for about 24km to reach Gangotri. Visit the temple and ride for another 200km to reach Ghansali. 
  • Day 5- Your next destination is Sonprayag that is 5 to 6 hours away from Ghansali. Start your ride in the morning and stay overnight at Sonprayag. 
  • Day 6- Ride to Gaurikund which is around 4km away from Sonprayag. Complete a trek of around 18km to reach Kedarnath Temple. You can also hire a pony if you don’t feel like walking. 
  • Day 7- Early morning, do temple darshan and trek back to Gaurikund. Take proper rest and ride towards Chopta.
  • Day 8- After breakfast, start your journey towards Badrinath. It will take you around 6 hours to reach Badrinath. Explore the place and stay overnight at a hotel. 
  • Day 9- This is the last day of your journey. In the morning visit the Badrinath Temple for darshan and ride back to Rishikesh. 

Best Time for Char Dham Yatra Bike Trip

The Char Dham is open for a specific time from late April to November. May and June is considered the peak time as most of the people avoid going in the months of July to September due to heavy rainfall.

How to complete Char Dham Yatra Bike Trip?

Completing the Char Dham Yatra is not an easy task as the two temples are accessible through a vehicle but for the other two- Yamunotri and Kedarnath you have to complete a trek. So, make sure you are well prepared and undergo a medical test before you plan for the trip.
